Blaming Chief Minister Mayawati for not working for the welfare of people, Congress (I) General Secretary during his five day tour in central UP from December 13 to 17, 2011 held public meetings highlighting that Congress (I)-led UPA Government is committed to introduce the Food Security Bill to ensure food to all and a strong Lokpal Bill to curb corruption. “But after introducing the food security bill, I am not sure whether the U.P. Government will provide food to all or it will go to only BSP leaders, ministers and criminals” he added taking a dig at the BSP rule. “Congress is the only party that thinks and works for the development. Congress is the party that always looks for the better future” Rahul Gandhi underlined. Congress (I) leader pointed out that Rs. 7000 crore was sanctioned by the Centre to promote Dalit entrepreneurship and also another Rs. 3000 crore assistance for the weavers was announced by the Centre recently. Rahul Gandhi is spearheading the Congress campaign in U.P for the upcoming assembly polls.
