Mayawati having compounded the miseries of the people of Uttar Pradesh by running the most corrupt and crime infested government during the last five years, it now seems that aam admi cutting across caste and community line is feeling that Congress (I) is a better option. Recently while addressing a public meeting in Bareilly Rahul Gandhi said the people of the state are fed up with both Mayawati and Mulayam Singh Yadav governments which played caste politics rather than providing good governance. Mayawati’s government even out-performed Mulayam Singh Yadav’s government on corruption. While these parties from Lucknow did nothing for the poor, OBCs and minority community, Congress (I) from a distant Delhi has been sending economic package for weavers and targeted central schemes for minorities and rural job scheme for the poor. In this connection Rahul Gandhi highlighted to the audience that Congress (I) credentials of being pro-people and development oriented are unmatched by any other party in the state.
