Congress working to raise productivity of investment

The government is geared to support and encourage the companies and investors to restructure the production systems through tax concessions, increased access to credits and support for enhanced R&D activities. Every effort is being made to raise the national expenditure on Research and Development to 2 per cent of GDP over a period of five years. The government is liberalizing technology imports as far as possible, across the board. The investors will not need any special permission from the government for importing technology. For the economy as a whole, productivity of capital is being increased with increasing investment in labour intensive and high productivity units such as construction, housing, rural industries, slum clearance, light manufactures and mostly in agriculture through irrigation and water management, as well as, in skill intensive industries like information technology. Special Missions are being established to make concrete recommendations for maximizing the development potential of important labour intensive industries.

Rahul Gandhi a true young visionary

"If we have to stop corruption then our democracy should reach to the grass root level in villages and to the common man". This was the statement made by young Congress leader and AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi during his visit to Jammu & Kashmir. We witnessed, rather celebrated, a fast by Anna Hazare demanding a strong Lokpal Bill for curbing corruption. Another much hyped ‘rath yatra’ is on the cards by veteran leader of BJP, LK Advani. Interestingly none of these leaders or organizations tries to explore the real cause of corruption from the core of heart and so their approach and handling of affairs are simply superficial. Anna Hazare and his team cried loudly against corruption but even their bill does not have adequate provisions to arrest the root cause of corruption, though it lists out how to punish the culprits. The opposition parties, mainly BJP, makes huge sounds against corruption, but it is widely known that many of their leaders are deep-necked in corruption.
But the above said words of Rahul Gandhi is very practical, important and positive.
