Lashing out against Mayawati for running most corrupt government and ignoring the development of the state, Rahul Gandhi has said that continuous efforts by Congress (I) to work for welfare of the people and development of UP is producing a lehar which is set to sweep Uttar Pradesh in the upcoming Assembly elections.
The people are fed up with Mayawati and Mulayam Singh Yadav who have been putting out big promises but done nothing for the people, said Rahul Gandhi while campaigning for the upcoming Assembly elections. “I have been visiting houses of dalits to understand their problems,” he said adding “For mobilizing the people against unjust policies of Mayawati government we sat on dharna in Jhansi for demanding justice to the farmers of Bundelkhand, for the cause of farmers; we held Kisan Mahasemelan in Aligarh; in Bhatta-Parsaul we reached out to the farmers against police atrocities.”
Highlighting that the efforts of Congress for the farmers compelled Mayawati government to change its land compensation policy,’ Rahul Gandhi said the earnestness with which we are attending public issues the people have realized that Congress (I) is going to usher a new era of development in the state.
