Priyanka Gandhi Vadra: Congress ruled states surge ahead, but U.P slips down

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra while speaking at an election meeting at Ramganj in Amethi as part of her campaign for Congress said that the biggest strength of the people in a democracy is the right to vote. She asked people to use this right intelligently so as to bring in positive changes in the state for the benefit of the future of the children.
Priyanka Gandhi said that this 2012 assembly election is crucial for the region as well as for the state. “What type of politics you require in your state? You have witnessed different kinds of politics in the past 22 years. You have witnessed the politics based on caste and religion and experienced rampant corruption and anarchy” she reminded.
Then stressing the need to caste the vote intelligently Priyanka Gandhi continued. “You are going to take a decision on 15th February on what type of politics you want to take forward. While all other states are progressing, there was no development in your state for the past 22 years. You can see the states like Maharashtra or Andhra Pradesh where Congress Governments work according to the requirements of the people. Your state is the biggest state in the country in terms of population. Still it is the most backward. Who will change this state of affairs? There can be changes by the decision you will take on 15th.
She has been campaigning in Amethi and Raebareli the constituencies of Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Sonia Gandhi respectively.
