Mayawati’s govt responsible for delay in schemes: Congress (I)


Referring to CAG report criticizing Uttar Pradesh government for delay in implementation of various schemes, Congress (I) has slammed Mayawati government for ignoring implementation developmental schemes meant for welfare of the people of the state.  Some schemes have been delayed from 2 to 8 years.  Congress (I) has highlighted that as a result expenditure on such schemes and programs increased from 28 per cent to 916 percent. For instance irrigation schemes were not implemented in time due to delay in allotment of funds and lacuna in the scheme.  As a result expenditure on the scheme increased by 55 percent over the original cost. Similarly, quality education is not available in the state due to non-satisfactory financial provisioning, non effective training administration and lack of man power management. Congress (I) has pointed out that for 95% graduate and post graduate colleges in the state quality education facilities are not available.
