Congress (I): Even primary education in UP is corruption ridden

Congress (I)-led UPA government at the Centre has given every child the right of education under Right to Education Act and de-linked it from the financial status of the parents whether they can financially afford it or not. But Mayawati government in UP as usual has not shown sincerity much less commitment to implement this right by boosting the primary education for children. Be it the construction of school buildings, mid-day meal scheme or the printing of textbooks, the traces of corruption are quite evident in all the issues. The amount of money involved in the scam in a single district can be gauged from the fact that the institution which supposedly supplied the mid-day-meal to the schools in the form of conversion costs has been paid an amount of Rs 7.6 crore. Moreover, the institution has lifted 43 thousand quintals of cereals in the period. Same is the situation in printing of books. Congress (I) has said in this game of corruption innocent students have turned out to be the sufferers.
