Congress (I) has said Mayawati is responsible for bad state of affairs in Uttar Pradesh which was once standard bearers of the country but is now lagging behind in all field. It is because Maya inducted persons of desperate and criminal background in BSP and then in her government. Recently Anandsen Yadav MLA was dismissed as Minister of State for Food Preservation and is currently in jail for his alleged role in the disappearance, and by all indications, murder, of a law student from Faizabad. The young woman, Shashi, went missing in October 2009. Her father, a BSP worker, implicated Yadav in the case, alleging that Shashi and the minister had been close to each other and Shashi had been pressing for marriage. Apparently, when Shashi threatened to expose her relationship with Yadav, she was done away safely. Incidentally, Yadav was in jail for a murder case when the Mayawati government was formed in May 2007. Later a session court in Faizabad held him guilty and sentenced him to life imprisonment. Thus it is clear to people that Mayawati’s party is responsible for crimes in the state.
